Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings for Kids

Semi-annual dental checkups and teeth cleanings are just as important for children as they are for adults since their smile is still developing. Without routine professional dental care, small issues like thumb-sucking or impacted teeth can become a much larger concern down the road. At each of your child’s checkups and cleanings, we’ll thoroughly examine their mouth and take dental X-rays. If we spot any issues, we’ll discuss them with you and work together to form the best treatment plan for your little one. Before we send you both on your way, we’ll clear all plaque and tartar from the surface of their smile, leaving their pearly whites bright, healthy ,and refreshed.

Dental Sealants

One of the most common oral health problems among children is cavities. This is primarily due to the fact that they haven’t yet mastered the practice of brushing and flossing their teeth, leaving food debris and plaque to accumulate in the grooves of their molars. Over time, oral bacteria can begin eroding their enamel and causing tooth decay. To keep this from happening, we can apply dental sealants to the surface of their molars, which are clear, protective coverings to keep debris from accumulating in the grooves and causing cavities to form.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a naturally-derived mineral that helps strengthen the enamel of teeth, which are responsible for protecting your little one’s pearly whites from decay. If they don’t receive enough of it in their local water sources, diet, or oral hygiene products, we may suggest that they get fluoride treatments. These are fast, simple, and painless. All we do is place a fluoridated gel on their teeth and wipe it off!
